Welcome to EcoPosts!
News -On Saturday 29th April we're formally launching the EcoPosts Project at Kitchener's Huron Natural Area as part of the KNAP Earth Day celebration that runs from 1-4pm. For more information: https://waterlooregionnature.ca/index.php/event/knap-earth-day/
EcoPosts is a guide to nature in the Region of Waterloo . We are profiling enjoyable places and species that you can visit easily with friends or family.
We can show you some items that you might expect – big white pines, migrating geese and beautiful river-valleys. And we’ll take you to other cool features that you might never have expected to see here - chickadees that will perch on your hand, peregrine falcons nesting in downtown Kitchener, prairies full of wildflowers and more!
EcoPosts is for everybody – be you a long time resident, a recent immigrant or a visitor. Ecoposts is here for you whether you drive a Lexus or a skateboard. Enjoy!
Each EcoPost includes information on:
- How to reach the site - whether by car, public transit or on your own feet or wheels
- Facilities at each site
- Natural features for all seasons
- Where else you can go nearby for a fun day out
