Introduction

The Grand and Speed River confluence is a great spot for wintering waterfowl and Bald Eagles, and it also provides a vista of the rare reserve and Doon Pinnacle at any time of year.

Things To Do

Find out about Kames and how the glacial history of the Grand River influences eagles and ducks. Take in the view of the rare Charitable Research Reserve and the bur oaks that line the river. 

Where Next?

Visit the rare Charitable Research Reserve or take in a section of the Walter Bean Trail while you are there. Walk, ski or cycle to downtown Preston and visit the cafes or visit downtown Galt with its colony of chimney swifts

By Car: Off Riverside Drive, via Preston town centre.

By Bike or on foot: Use the Bob McMullen Trail

By Bus: Bus access is via Routes 56 and 64 with bus stops on Rose St. 3 blocks from the EcoPost. Use the 64 bus stop at Rose and Westminster, or the 56 bus stop outside Preston High School.

You can pass by this site by canoe on the Grand and Speed Rivers but there is no handy landing site.
Dogs are allowed on leash
A walking and cycling trail runs the length of the park.
